As an exchange-listed company, quality and transparency in corporate management are of cardinal importance to us.
According to Corporate governance of Swiss companies, a study published in November 2005 by the Swiss Investment Foundation for Sustainable Development (Ethos), for the third time in succession we were ranked among the leading companies with respect to the quality of corporate governance. In calculating its rating, Ethos took into consideration not only the degree to which listed companies complied with Swiss rulings (the guidelines of the SWX Swiss Exchange concerning information provided on corporate governance and the recommendations of economiesuisse regarding the Swiss code of best practice, it also included the international best practice criteria for corporate governance.
Furthermore, the latest (available in German only) of the Institute of Accounting and Controlling of the University of Zurich also confirms that, with a degree of implementation of 100 percent, we fulfil the guidelines concerning the information to be provided about corporate governance.
These positive assessments are a prime incentive for us to continue improving our corporate governance.
