Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility (LDF)

On 28 July 2009 the British tax authority, Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC), announced a "New Disclosure Opportunity" (NDO) for the payment of tax arrears.

On 11 August 2009 Liechtenstein signed an agreement with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on cooperation in tax matters. The UK agreement also includes a bilateral disclosure facility that only applies to the Liechtenstein financial centre.

This "Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility" (LDF) offers persons taxable in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland the opportunity to rectify their tax affairs in relation to the UK rapidly and subject to attractive conditions.

The LDF is not only open to UK taxpayers with an existing business relationship with a Liechtenstein financial intermediary, but also to clients who establish a meaningful relationship with Liechtenstein.
