Grants by the Future Foundation of the Liechtensteinische Landesbank
Vaduz, 10 December 2019. On Tuesday evening, the annual grant event of the public-benefit Future Foundation of the Liechtensteinische Landesbank took place on the premises of the Therapeutic-Pedagogical Centre (hpz) in Schaan. Representatives of the 24 beneficiary institutions from Liechtenstein were invited to the official funding event.
24 institutions recognised for their work
The LLB has been awarding grants for 42 years. Since 2011, the contributions have been paid through the Future Foundation, which was established to mark the 150th anniversary of the Liechtensteinische Landesbank. At the event, which included a symbolic presentation of cheques to the beneficiary institutions, a toast was raised to their past and future work.
"These institutions do important work for the people in our country and in our region. They form a network and help where there is a need. We are proud to be making a small contribution to their fantastic work through our Future Foundation," said Roland Matt, Chairman of the Foundation Board of the Future Foundation and Group CEO of the LLB Group, in his words of thanks to this year's recipients. The total amount of the grants awarded in 2019 is about 85'000 Swiss Francs.
Responsibility to society and the environment
The Future Foundation not only supports social organisations in Liechtenstein, but also promotes future-oriented social and environmental projects. Over the past nine years, the Future Foundation has awarded more than 160 grants and made more than 50 contributions to project funding.
Brief portrait of the Future Foundation
The Liechtensteinische Landesbank was founded on 5 December 1861 as the "Zins- und Credit-Landes-Anstalt im souverainen Fürstenthume Liechtenstein" (National Interest and Credit Institution in the Sovereign Principality of Liechtenstein). On the occasion of its 150th anniversary in 2011, which was celebrated under the motto "150 Years of Looking Forward", the LLB established the "Future Foundation of the Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG". The purpose of this public-benefit foundation is to promote future-oriented social and environmental projects. Funding in the social sphere has primarily been to projects that provide a sustainable improvement to the living and working conditions of people and that strengthen their individual responsibility. In the environmental sphere, special importance is attached to environmental sustainability. The Future Foundation is a member of the Association of Liechtenstein Charitable Foundations (VLGS), which aims to promote the vision of entrepreneurial philanthropy.
