Musical delights at LLB Summer in the Courtyard

LLB Summer in the Courtyard – summer concerts

Music meets summer nights – LLB Summer in the Courtyard offers a colourful mix of music

Already for the 23rd time, regional music stars will be performing in the courtyard of the LLB headquarters in Vaduz as part of LLB Summer in the Courtyard. From 27 June to 4 July, five bands will present a wide variety of musical highlights. Whether melodic pop, country, soul, swing, or Latin – the 2019 programme offers something for every taste.

Five bands – five styles

The Liechtenstein ensemble "Nevertheless" will launch the concert series on Thursday, 27 June, with four women's voices and one man's voice harmonising in a selection of pop and rock arrangements. The quintet is accompanied by four excellent professional musicians on piano, guitar, bass, and drums.  Original compositions and personal anecdotes round off the varied programme.

Friday evening continues with boots and cowboy hats, when "Jessie & the Gents" gallop through their original compositions and covers of well-known country songs by artists like Norah Jones and Alison Krauss. The acoustic formation delights audiences with 100% handmade music. The band received the Swiss Country Music Award in 2018.

On Saturday evening, the SSC Big Band Rheintal performs "A Tribute to Frank Sinatra" with a magnificent and stylish show. This classical big band is made up of dedicated amateur musicians, music students, and professional musicians. With an abundance of charm and his moving voice, well-known Graubünden singer Jörg Guyan – also known as Guya – brings life to the legend. He is accompanied by the Rhine Valley singer Uschi Palmisano. Sinatra's music brings generations together, and certainly also the strangers in the night under Vaduz's night sky.

A sunny cocktail of Caribbean music and pop songs from the '80s arranged in Latin American style awaits the audience on Wednesday, July 3, when "Heridos De Sombra" take the stage with an atmospheric holiday groove. Their catchy music invites the crowd to listen and dream, but it also rewards those who love to dance.

New Orleans classics round of the festival on Thursday, 4 July, when "Stompin' Howie & the Voodoo Train" stop in the Vaduz Städtle. The lead singer and bassist is Lorenzo "Muki" Wilson from New York – a man who wrote music history in the '70s. He'll take the stage with well-known musicians from the region: Christof Waibel, vocals and piano; Roger Szedalik on the guitar; and Little Konzett on the drums.
